On 14 June 2017 the Minister of Justice László Trócsányi said: "I am not familiar with civil disobedience, nor does law know about it." Two days later the Prime Minister also said on Kossuth Radio that "there is no such thing in Hungarian law". For the context see our earlier statement.
The mini conference, triggered by these remarks, examines the notion of civil disobedience from the perspective of law, political philosophy and as a tool of nonviolent resistance.
