The celebratory volume of the Institute dedicated to its chairman on the occasion of his 60th birthday is a collection of papers on the protection of individuality and privacy and on the relation of the self and the community. In the five sections (The Self and the law, The Self and philosophy, the Self and society, The Self and art, The Self...), the papers range from academic studies to works of art. The title of the book refers both to its topic and to the diversity of character of the man celebrated.
