László Majtényi, chairman of Eötvös Károly Policy Institute addresses a Freedom of Information (FoI) request in the form of open letter to Sándor Pintér, Minister of Interior Affairs in Hungary, in which he urges the Minister to publish the draft of the law on secret surveillances. The publication is necessary for establishing open, public debate and social consensus on the future regulation.
The government is obliged to create a regulation on secret surveillances that is consistent to the European Union's norms by the judgement of the European Court of Human Right is in the case of Szabó and Vissy v. Hungary.
