The festival will be devoted to the memory of Péter Esterházy.
In the programme we will focus on the memory of the 1956 Hungarian revolution and it will also be discussed how authoritarian regimes can be converted into democratic systems.
Outstanding experts and activists like László Bitó, Zoltán Egeresi, Gábor Horváth, Attila Juhász, András Kováts, Márta Pardavi, Zoltán Sz. Bíró, Péter Uj and Ágnes Urbán will discuss current pressing issues, for instance, the freedom of the press or the situation of refugees. Besides, well-known artists and writers, such as Zsófia Bán, Kriszta Bíró, László Dés, István Kerékgyártó, Domokos Lázár, Lajos Parti Nagy, György Spiró, Ernő Szív and Pál Závada will provide excellent cultural programmes.
Moreover, in the framework of the festival the Living Memorial Group (“Eleven Emlékmű Csoport”) will hold a panel discussion on the remembrance of the 1956 revolution. Participants of the discussion are Mária Vásárhelyi, László Rajk, Ágnes Rényi and Mária Heller.
